Abstract

REVIVAL refers to self-acceptance, embracing inner strength, and self-renewal. It is a person's profound, internal, spiritual transformation to attain higher awareness throughout life. Through time, a human makes various decisions that create specific life situations. Sometimes the conditions are so spiritually, mentally, or physically difficult that a person reaches the limit of his endurance. It is followed by a crisis that may end in complete collapse or, on the contrary, in rebirth. My works represent a spiritual awakening with a mixture of emotional influences trying to find an authentic self and self-acceptance. It is REVIVAL through darkness and light, fear and euphoria. The work consists of four paintings that reflect a transition of human emotions from the low state of mind to the high state of being. They can be "rising" or "falling." A person thinks and feels different emotions through the mind by changing state. The paintings have been created using mixed media, mainly acrylic paints. During the creation process, I was most inspired by the nature and beauty of the world. Therefore, I have used colors in cool shades that express sadness and warm colors that define happiness. I have also used symbolism in my works. An example of it is a bird of paradise which stands for enlightenment, hope, and wisdom. It happens that a human realizes that old habits and mechanisms designed to bring happiness no longer works. There is only emptiness, sadness, and fear for the future. So maybe this is the right time to answer the questions: what makes me happy? Who am I? How can I revive myself anew?
