Abstract

My work is often split between drawings in black ink pen on paper or acrylic paint on pen. I tend to create abstract paintings that focus on color, or representational drawings with recognizable people, places, things, and ideas. My senior exhibition is centered on the idea of synesthesia. I’m focusing on how I relate my friends and family to certain colors and shapes depending on our relationship, and how I view each person’s individual personality. My goal is to explain these paintings and the meaning behind them in order to remind others of their loved ones, and help them evaluate their relationships and the personalities of those they care about as deeply as I have been doing this semester.
