Abstract
Through both research and an autoethnography paper, I will be sharing my journey to amplify a larger crisis that is occurring within our society. By referring to various readings and statistics from SOC 105 along with material from my other classes, I will use this symposium as an opportunity to share my experiences and experiences that other college students may be going through. This is important as our society is full of students who are suffering the financial burden of school and struggling with their mental and or physical health which leaves them no choice but to take time off of school. Rather than this time being seen as a negative, I believe that it is crucial to emphasize the importance of the message that taking time off of school, for whatever reason may be, transferring schools or taking more than four years to graduate from undergraduate school is not uncommon.
