Abstract
Over the years, there has been an increase of non-traditional, first generation, and adult learner students in higher education in the United States. Previous studies have tried to identify the struggles these students face in completing their education and found that these factors range from economic to social to education preparation. This research will specifically investigate the impact financial status has on adult undergraduate women and how it correlates it to their success in educational pursuits. The goal is to improve the overall experience of higher education for adult women through understanding their financial obligations impacting their educational goals and improve their completion rate of undergraduate degrees. Participants will complete an interview asking questions about their educational experiences. Participants will be interviewed about their educational experiences and goals to gather more details about their specific experiences and expectations The information gained by this study can be used to identify policy changes to make undergraduate education accessible for non-traditional students, and especially adult women.
