Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to completely understand how companies in Ecuador work together in order to create sub and semi-finished products and how these alliances between companies bring other benefits to the ecuadorian industry. Is important to acquire some knowledge of how these alliances work inside the market in Ecuador, so our investigation is based on 5 key elements that are: time efficiency, optimization of costs and materials, profits, process technification, and environmental responsibility. More specifically, this research is focused on finding the answers for the following questions related to strategic alliances that elaborate sub and semi-finished products: how strategic alliances make operations faster within a company (time efficiency), how they improve processes inside an industry (with technification), how they answer to the market and environment changes, and finally how Ecuadorian organizations can improve their competitive advantage optimizing their costs and increasing their profits through strategic alliances. In addition, we will try to answer other benefits that come with having strategic alliances that are: joint procurement of market information, organization and joint participation in conferences and training workshops, joint obtaining of financing, joint participation in fairs and exhibitions, among others.
