Abstract

We live in a world with cruelty. But with cruelty there is also beauty. It is an imperfect world. There are many people who view the world as dark and crass, and there are many others who see the world as a majestic entity. Sometimes there are people who get blinded by their own view of the world and for quite a while they will forget how the other side of the world is. This goes for both perspectives. Those who view the world as dark and scary just need to be reminded how remarkable and breathtaking this world can be. And those who continuously see the world as just beautiful need to be reminded that the world is also scary and messed up and that some people aren’t so fortunate to feel and see the world as a beautiful entity. And that while enjoying life it is important to remember to be on guard sometimes no matter where you are because bad things can happen so fast. The sole purpose of my exhibition is sending a message towards the viewers. A message that contains both beauty and cruelty. This is intended to be viewed by anyone except children. Everyone has different views on how they see the world they live in. I deeply believe that this exhibition will give my viewers a much more open mind on how they view both perspectives of the world or merely a reminder on how important it is to remember both perspectives of the world. My idea for this exhibition is to fuse both perspectives of cruelty and beauty together and show the people that there is no life without pain. There is no love, there is no joy. I want people from both perspectives of life to see each other’s view of the world and to remember and understand what both perspectives mean and find some sort of peace with that. My exhibition will include ten highly detailed 11 by 14 inch comic book style drawings. All of them will include humans and mythical creatures. Five will show a representation of the cruel side of the world we live in. And the other five will show a representation of the beautiful side of the world.
