Abstract

STRESS LESS Rita Mikho1 1Department of Fine Arts, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, IL 60625 In today’s fast-paced academic environment, stress can often feel overwhelming but it’s important to remember that self-care is not selfish, it’s essential. By fostering a supportive community and encouraging open dialogue about mental health, Stress Less aims to create a campus culture where students feel empowered to prioritize their well-being. For this symposium, I’ll be showcasing positive and affirmative posters, stickers, and a booklet with self-care tips and information about how stress affects your health. My goal is to educate students about stress and its effects while also providing them with easy ways to take care of themselves using visually appealing designs. Through this project, I hope to spark conversations about self-care and mental health and ultimately help students feel seen and heard.
