Abstract

I create mixed media artwork that explores human figures and repeated flower motifs. I use a variety of media, including paint pens, cut paper, and acrylics to explore these forms. The artwork features swirling designs, morphing shapes, and exaggerated proportions, aiming to evoke a sense of altered transcendental experiences. My process for making the work is instinctual because it comes from a flow of consciousness. My artworks are intended to captivate the viewer, evoking a sense of psychedelic wonder while leaving interpretation open to individual perception. This artwork is an investigation of the present moment and depths of the subconscious mind. The viewer will enter the gallery and encounter a variety of mixed media artworks that range in size from 88 x 10 inches to 36 x 48 inches. The artwork, crafted from various materials such as wood, paper, canvas, and mirror, will be hung over a grid of flower decals. Despite the assortment of materials, the consistent visuals of flower people, cut flower paper, and text will tie the collection together. The gallery will allow for complete immersion into the colors of the artwork and make the viewer a part of this flower dystopia.
